“Our message we preach is not about ourselves. Our message is about Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:5

We at SHB Productions believe the greatest message the world has ever been given is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why we exist, to bring this message of the Gospel to every person, everywhere.

The Gospel is the good news of what God has done for you and me because of His great love for us. At the core of the Gospel message is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But what does that mean to us 2000 years after it has happened? Let me explain.

The word “Gospel “translated from the original language means “good news”, but this good news is proceeded by bad news. That bad news is all of us are separated from God because of sin. If someone offered you a cure to a deadly disease but you did not know you had this disease it probably would not mean much to you. But if a doctor was to show you evidence that you had a deadly disease the cure would mean everything to you. Sin is the most horrible disease mankind has ever known. It is the cause of suffering, sickness, death and ultimately separation from Our Creator, who made us to be in relationship with Him. A relationship more loving and closer than any other we have known. Sin is why we see such horrible things in the world we live in. It was not God’s choice for us to have sin, it was our ancestor’s choice that caused sin and separation from our Creator. That sin passed from them to us.

God’s goodness not ours

Many people think they are a “good person” and if their good outweighs their bad they will go to heaven. This is the basis for religion. Religion is man’s attempt to get to God through being good enough. The problem with this is God’s standard of goodness and our standard of goodness are not the same. God’s standard is perfection in thought, word and deed. God’s standard is the 10 Commandments also known as “the Law” and no human being has kept this standard, except one person. Jesus Christ

God’s Law was not meant for us to keep so we could be good enough get to Him or to heaven but to show us our sin and separation from Him. “Through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20

All of us have broken God’s standard and because God is good, He must give justice to every person. The consequences of our sin is death and eternal separation from God forever in a place called hell. God never intended for anyone to go there! It is a place where there is no hope, no life or love. But we did not only break God’s Law, but we also broke God’s heart, and He loved us too much to leave us in this condition. So, God became one of us, in the form of His Son Jesus to take our place. “God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we may have eternal life through Him. This is real love, not that we loved God, but that He first loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10  On the cross Jesus took our place and He paid the price of sin that we could not pay. Jesus’ last words from the cross were “It is Finished.” John 19:30. Jesus gave His life for all our sins and the price for sin was paid totally, completely and permanently! He saved us from the judgement and hell we deserved because of His love for us and there was no other way for us to get back to God. On the third day He rose from the dead and overcame death for us! “Our Savior Jesus Christ who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” 2 Timothy 1:10

Jesus ascended to heaven and made a way for every person who calls on His name to receive the gift of eternal life through an eternal relationship with Him as lord. “For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Wages are earned, even deserved but a gift can only be received? So how do we receive the gift of eternal life? By Grace through faith. The bible says. “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8 NIV

When we repent, (turning away from sin) and putting our faith in Jesus Christ receiving Him as our Lord we receive Gods gift of Eternal life. Believing in our heart and praying from our mouth. “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

Today if you want to receive Jesus as your Lord you can pray to Him, and He will hear you!

Prayer: God, I realize You love me and that I have sinned against You. I ask you to forgive me of my sin. I believe that Jesus came and died for my sin and rose from the dead! Today I put my trust in You Jesus, I receive You as my Lord. You gave all your life for me and today I give all my life to You. Fill me with Your Spirit so I can live a life that honors You from this day and forever after. Amen
